Encomion ( from the Greek - in praise of another) explores the relationships between artists and each other's work. Mike's work being expired Polaroid Images of other exhibitors's sculptures reproduced as large scale Giclee prints. Mike says: 'I wanted to produce images that looked like they had been sitting undiscovered in a museum cupboard for decades. It worked.
There are very few constants left in the world of photography, not least due to the pace and scale of change in the originating mediums and the processes involved in reprocucing those images. I have worked with Spectrum Photographic, since its inception, for my Theatre and Opera work, and they have always led the way in exploring and developing new working methods and encouraging closer relationships with their customers, the work they have done in helping me with this new direction and exhibition continues to show why they are without question the leading industry providers of professional lab services.
